Wall Heaters

Wall Heaters

Wall heaters are a critical part of your home environment. Without proper maintenance they will not work efficiently and will cost you more money to heat your home. Take a look at the maintenance tips on the right of this page to be sure your heater isn’t a hazard.

If you have a wall heater in your home, take a look at what you have around them. Be sure you have nothing flammable around the heater. You’ll also want to check for cords that are too close, the heat might melt them.

Also, some older heaters have been recalled so you want to check on your model to be sure it has not been recalled.

The most important thing is to be sure the fan is moving at a consistent fast speed when the heater is on!

Maintenance Tips

  • Turn off the circuit breaker for the heater before doing any cleaning or maintenance.
  • Heaters should be cleaned and inspected every year to prevent any dust or lint accumulation on the fan. To clean you should remove the front grill cover and vacuum it out or use compressed air to clean it out.
  • You can then clean the front grill cover with a damp rag. Dry the grill cover before putting it back on.
  • Once these components have been cleaned, turn the circuit breaker back on. Then turn the thermostat on to be sure the fan motor is moving at a consistent fast speed.
